MY TATTOO STYLE TAKE ON THE CATALPA

Let me tell you about the good ship Catalpa and the jailbreak of 6 Irish rebels.

In 1876, a group of political prisoners escaped from a Western Australian prison using a ship called the Catalpa. The commercial whaler was bought and operated by the Fenian Brotherhood! It was all thanks to some very serious operators. John Devoy, George Anthony, and Captain George Smith Anthony. Without them, this jailbreak would have been a total bust. But they pulled it off, and it was one for the history books. Talk about dedication to the cause.

Patrick Pearse called John Devoy "the greatest Fenian of them all".

The whole plan was pretty ballsy. The ship sailed from the United States to Australia, picked up the prisoners, and then sailed back to the US without getting caught. And the best part? The British authorities were completely clueless until it was too late.

How can you not admire the sheer audacity of it all? This was at a time when the Royal Navy controlled the sea lanes of the world.

Britannia really did rule the waves back then. The Catalpa jailbreak is the stuff of legends, and it just goes to show that when you're fighting for what you believe in, anything is possible.
